Daily Reading : Genesis chapters 5 thru 8 Key Verse: Genesis 6:5 As we mark this day as the five year anniversary of 9/11, a day recognized as one of the most tragic days in US history, we must ponder the patience of God towards man. In Genesis 6:5, we are given a picture of man during Noah's time. This verse states that the intents of man's heart were only evil continually. What a sad statement? In Genesis 6:11-12, God looked at the earth and all He saw was corruption and violence. God patiently searched the earth for at least one righteous man. Thankfully, Noah was righteous and blameless in his time. Salvation comes through righteousness. Because of Noah's righteousness, the earth, the animals and his family were saved from certain death. Noah's example paints a wonderful picture for us today. Through the righteousness of Christ, we have salvation. His payment for our sins declares us, as believers, righteous. Therefore, when God sees the corruption of the eath and evilness of man, He can search the earth and find more than one righteous person. Is it possible that through the declared righteousness of believers that this world could be saved? We should continually thank God for His patience towards us. We should also be fervent about adding to His family. As with the tragedy of 9/11, we cannot name the time when life will end. We can only mark the time when eternal life begins once we become members of the body of Christ. Have you extended an invitation lately for someone to join the Family?

As I ponder the question, "Is it possible that through the declared righteousness of believers that this world could be saved?", I can't help but think that if we, as believers, began displaying Christlike characteristics and sharing the gospel truth, a multitude of people could end up accepting Jesus and become a part of the family. However, the sad truth is that some people simply refuse to do this no matter how much they have heard, or been taught, about Christ. Despite this, we must not loose heart and must continue to share our faith with lost people no matter how difficult we may deem the task. I know, personally, that I don't share Christ with nearly enough people because of inhibitions that have planted by Satan, but I do plan to continue to pray and ask God to give me the strength and courage to do His will.

I appreciate your honesty and we will continue to pray for you as your witness increase. Witnesses deal with facts and personal knowledge. Many witnesses come forth due to a cause (putting a criminal behind bars or stopping someone from being taking advantage of). Many Christians are not witnesses because they have not grasped the cause of saving others from a fiery pit and constantly being taken advantage of by Satan. Look around the world and it is evident of those who live with a cause. Nothing can stop them – not even death. God has given us an endless supply of His power to accomplish the cause of saving souls. I pray that Christians all around the world will engage and publicly affirm this truth.
