Entry for April 8, 2008
Daily reading: Psalm 31 thru Psalm 34 Key Verses: Psalm 32:8-9 If you have ever had to care for a child that has severe discipline issues then you can relate to what God is saying here. Your preferred method of care would be to speak loving to them and they obey -- right? When that method is not effective other measures must be taken. Other methods are in the form of barriers and restraints. God says barriers and restraints are for horses and mules which have no understanding. God speaks to what He knows. He knows that He created us with the capacity to listen, understand, and obey. God's choice is to lead us with chords of love and wisdom rather than punishment. The choice is ours. The master will get His way, one way (chords of love) or another (punishment). Will you be "stubborn as a mule" or will you hear and obey the voice of God? 2008-04-08 11:16:29 GMT

Since God is almighty, he can get us to do anything he wants, but was loving and gracious enough to give us free will. There is true freedom in God if we willingly live by his commandments. However, God will pour out his wrath on those who willfully go against him. Therefore, it is certainly better and more fulfilling to accept him as Instructor, Teacher, Counselor, Father, and Lord.

As we pray at The Spark: God teach us; God help us; God show us Your way. In Jesus Name, Amen. The ways of the Lord are up-right and righteous. Our Father will never lead us astray, and unlike the world- He will never forsake us. Hallelujah! Lord, You are good and Your mercy endures forever and ever. Thank Your for Your saving grace that You continue to shed on our lives. Thank You, Lord for loving us first. I bless You Lord, because no matter how crooked our path; You continue to hold on to Your children. Thank You, Father! In Jesus Name- Amen.

Discipline issues have plagued our society for as long as I can remember, and the results are steadily unfolding with the crime rates shooting through the roof. The unfortunate destination for most unruly children who don't correct their ways is death (either directly to the grave or death from society in prison). We as children need to take note of this and choose life through cheerful obedience (freedom).

It seems difficult for many both children and adults to understand the severity of consequences that they feel don't immediately hit them. Many feel that heaven or hell is so far off that they can't conceive of those types of consequences. Although, what they really need to understand that living in Christ allows them to have a freedom that makes living here on earth a much better place. I pray that we all grow spiritually so our lights can shine out for those children who are being disobedient to God. Let our lives show that being obedient to God is not just a bunch of rules of what you can or cannot do, but that the consequence is life, both here and throughout eternity. In Jesus name, Amen. I need some guidance. I need some instructions. Thats the truth. Sometimes I think that I know much; thats the first sign of one that knows very little. God Word plays a huge part in my life. Regardless of the circumstance it's there available for reading. Pray is here, and so is God ready to listen.

God gives us chance after chance to get it right. God has been so merciful towards me. There have been times when God had to discipline me because of my hard head, but I know it was out of love. Even when I was disciplined, God was so loving towards. Thank you God for your kindness and mercy even during times of discipline.

I have experienced being as stubborn as a mule and dealing with children that are stubborn as a mule. For me the discipline change the path of my life and made me listen, understand, and obey God’s words. I can now see the path that my life was going and I thank God for helping me to change my sinful ways. I pray that one day my kids at Cullen will listen so that they will only experience God's love and not his punishment.
