Daily Reading: Jeremiah Chapter 17 thru Chapter 20

Key Verses: Jeremiah 20:8-9

Remember someone telling you a secret when you were young and how badly you wanted to tell somebody?  You looked for the first excuse to unleash it?  You even led conversations and tilted them in a direction for the person to ask you certain questions?  Why?  Because it was something that stirred in you that you just could not hold in.  You put family and friendships on the line to tell it.  You even put your own reputation on the line to tell it.  Even with all of that -- you still had to say something!

For Jeremiah, the word of God was like a burning fire that he had to release.  He couldn't hold it in if he wanted to.  No one is willing to hold their hand in fire for long.  The word was so strong in Jeremiah that he shouted it aloud continuously with conviction.  In order for the word to be consuming fire to Jeremiah, he first had to consume it.  The word has to get in us before it can affect us.  God has given you some of the juiciest secrets known to mankind and released you to tell the world.  Have you been holding it in?  Do you not feel a flame?  Ask God to blow on your flame and lend yourself to His service.  Fresh wind fresh fire come quickly!

I will speak of your goodness, Lord. Fresh wind, fresh fire--come quickly! Open the ears of those you place in my path so they may be receptive to the word you give me. In Jesus name, Amen.

Think about when you first met that special someone. Didn't you tell all your friends, or did they not immediately notice a change in your ways. Usually, everyone notices that you spend all of your waking hours either with that person or talking about them. Should we not act the same for the one who has loved us since before the foundation of the earth was laid and shaped us in our mothers' womb?

For me when I get excited about anything, I quickly tell everyone within the sound of my voice what's got me all stirred up. I am so glad to be coming into the knowledge of God's love, and getting to know all about how He has worked throughout both my life and the existence of mankind. I pray that we all can all get stirred up about having a growing relationship with God, so that we have no choice but to run out and tell everyone how good He really is. In Jesus name, Amen.

Father….I take hold of your Word that I may consume it….I acknowledge my accountability to you in spending the necessary time studying in order to experience change in my actions, conversation, thoughts and deeds….I understand studying your word trains my spiritual ear to hear your voice in order to translate the Good News to others who are lost and needing encouragement. I pray that the fire of God will ignite my passion to a greater level towards His service. I pray for a fresh wind with creative ideas and witty inventions to share God’s Word with the world at large…..Breathe on me Holy Spirit….fall afresh on me….In Jesus’ name…….

Oh how pleasing it would be in the Lords' sight- to see when all the world cherish His Word so much that the lasting effect is like "fire shut up in our bones." What a sweet sensation, that we won't be able to contain; leaving no choice but to speak Gods truth into one another. Praise God! What a day, what a day- when our flesh is permanently erased, and in the words of Dietrich Bonhoeffer: "we wake up with the Lord in the Garden of Gethsemane." Halleluah! Halleluah! We serve an AWESOME God, and He deserves all my praise plus double the amount that any man on the face of this earth can give. Thank You, Father for who You are. In Jesus Name, Amen and Amen.
