Entry for April 29, 2008
Daily reading: Psalm 43 thru Psalm 46 Key verse: Psalm 46:4 I grew up not far from the "Mighty" Mississippi River. This river was very important to American history. Rivers provide water and nutrients needed for agricultur. Rivers facilitate trade with other cities which is vital to the economy and cultur of a city. This verse may be puzzuling because it speaks of a river in the city of God. Jerusalem did not have any natural rivers flowing through it. Jerusalem was sustained by the Living Rivers of Water. As long as God almighty was with them He sustained them. They didn't have to wait on God He was a present help. God is the giver and sustainer of all life. Come and bask in the river and drink from the stream from which all life flows. I will rejoice and be glad! 2008-04-29 12:05:44 GMT

Heavenly Father, take my hand and lead me to the "river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells." -Psalm 46:4- Father, my desire is to be called up in that number when You return for those You choose, Amen. Lord, I pray that all Your children begin and/or continue to have open minds and hearts to seek after Your will. For Your way is the only way to Heaven, and Your creation desperately needs You. Father, You are a God of grace and mercy; therefore I speak grace and mercy on myself and those that sometimes stray away from Your streams. I bless Your Holy Name, and I proclaim that there is none like You. I love You Lord. "If it had not been for the Lord by my side- tell me where would I be..." Thank You Lord for staying by my side. In Jesus' Sweet Name I pray, Amen.

The book of Psalm is encouraging and reminds me to give thanks and praise to God with songs. His river of living water is something to give thanks for and sing praises about.

Father I thank you for Your river that flows in us. Just the water vapor which is expelled from your river can allow us to do mighty things. I pray that we all get past our stubborn ways and realize that it is not earthly things, but only Your living water that will truly sustain us. We all heard that you can lead a horse to water, but can’t make Him drink. I pray that we run to your water and drink as much as our earthly vessels can hold. In Jesus name, Amen.

Oh how I long to be in the presence of the Lord! I am convinced that He is the essence of my being….My present help who always makes a way of escape. I believe it’s a”Do or die” situation….Drink from God’s living water and experience the newness of life and if not…. I will wither and fade away….I am rejoicing because God is sustaining me daily and is the “lifter” of my head…He gives me the strength to continue in this race and I am going to remain under His shadow as I drink from the well that never runs dry…..

It also points that it was for Your people. Thanks for the hope and the trust that I'm allowed to have in You. --James A. McCauley <mailto:jmcCauley@thewaybiblefellowship.org>

I know that God sustains me and I thank him for it. It is such a blessing to know that God will provide for me. There was a time in my life when I attempted to sustain myself through my own strength. I was stressed out and tired because of it. I thank God for his peace and blessings.
