Daily reading: Psalm 59 thru Psalm 62

Key Verse: Psalm 61:2

David experienced devastating heartbreaks during his lifetime.  He spent a great deal of time running for his life from a leader he loved (Saul), and a son he loved (Absalom).  His journeys took him to what seemed like the ends of the earth.  What do you do when there is nowhere else to go and no one to talk to?  In those situations, we must go to the Rock that is higher than us.  Jesus is my Rock and my salvation.  He always lifts me up in my lowest moments.  Even from the ends of the earth His presence, power, and provision is there.  Seek the Rock of all ages -- Jesus.

Times get hard. Circumstances become unbearable. Some people turn to alcohol and drugs, promiscuity, gluttony, or credit card "shopaholism". These temporary fixes only aggravate situations. Once you medicate your body with mind-altering substances, eat excessively, or spend money you do not have in order to feel better, you undoubtably will feel much worse. Thereafter, you will have to deal with sickness and disease and unsurmountable debt. It is good to know that we have something (someone) stronger and more long-lasting (everlasting) to turn to during these periods. David turned to the Rock. We can turn to the Rock because God is the same today as he was then. Turing to the Rock of our salvation is the only thing that will make us truly feel better...the only way to be free...and there is no adverse side effects.

The story of David should be told to all the people in rehab, depression treatment centers, suicide prevention places and all other places where people turn to when they feel they’re at their lowest point. David was able to sing many of these psalms through his persecutions because his refuge was not in himself, his possessions, or other men, but in God. I pray that we all take the same refuge in God, through His son Jesus, so that at our lowest moments we can still sing knowing that He is the rock we stand on. In Jesus name, Amen.

David's cry was for God to protect him from his enemy. David understood that the Lord is the only Savior. From what I understand- he knew there was no other name more dependable than our Heavenly Father. There is a song that goes, "great things happen when God mix with man." Praise God for His undying love for His children; that He attends to our every need! Like David, I want to be more dependant on God through all things, no matter what.

Lord, take my hand and lead me to the rock that is higher than high. In Your darling Son- Jesus name I pray, Amen and Amen.

The Blindfolds are Covering Me!

I can't see, I can't do it God! But I know You can. I know You have the Power. I know You hear very clearly. Here is my hand God, take it, take me, lead me, where you desire. Just help me, like I know you can.

Sometimes life places us in tight situations to where we can do nothing else but DEPEND!

Thank you; Solid Rock!

What a friend we have in Jesus! Who is my source? The most high, the king of kings, the lord of lords, the creator of the heavens and the earth. My God who gives me peace when I would worry. My God who gives me food when I am hungry. My God who gave me a place to stay when I couldn’t afford my own place. My God who gave me a Job when I didn’t have a place to work. I just want to say thank you God for Jesus. Thank you for your unfailing love. Thank you for never leaving me nor forsaking me. I love you Lord. Help me to be as loving as you are. Help me to be quick to here slow to speak. Thank you God In Jesus Name Amen

All my hope and trust is in Him and the power of His might! I’ve got my anchor hooked deep in the Lord; otherwise, my life would be over….My cleaver and mighty ROCK upon which I stand! I am so glad that He accepts me when I run to Him for safety…
