Daily Reading: Lamentations Chapter 1 thru Chapter 4

Key Verse: Lamentations 2:7

Having the experience of planting a church gives me perspective on this verse.  We began meeting in my living room at home, we were then blessed to meet in a building, and now we are meeting in another building.  What this has made me realize is our place of worship is not as important as our pattern of worship.  Solomon built this magnificent temple for God but they became more impressed with the building than they were with God.  They did not live what they proclaimed during worship.  They did not believe the prayers they prayed.  Their worship turned into a mocking lie in the eyes of God.  When you worship, do you believe the words you are saying?  Do you pray for help that you do not believe will come?  Do you express love for God that you don't really have?  Is your place of worship more impressive than your pattern of worship?  I urge you to ask God to search your heart and be filled with His Holy Spirit.  Pray for genuine worship to come forth from your being and honor God our Father.  In Spirit and in Truth.

I recently had a conversation with my wife where I expressed that I was more concerned with what was going on in our house than the structure itself. We both could get two or three jobs to get a more comfortable residence, our relationship with each other and our daughter would most likely suffer because we would have no time to spend together. As we see in this story when the relationship the house is built on goes astray, the house will surely come down sometime afterwards. Don’t get me wrong, that doesn’t mean we’re just settling for where we are. It just means we keep our relationship first in mind as we proceed to get a more spacious place to love one another in.

I see the same being asked of us by God. We don’t abandon all of His commandments in the name of getting more stuff, and think paying more tithes will balance things out. We put our relationship with Him first, and keep moving forward together with Him. I pray that we all continue to work on our relationship with God and anything hindering us from Him is removed. In Jesus name, Amen.

This situation in Zion is cause and effect. Because of sin- the Lord let loose His wrath. Today, we live in a world surrounded by sin. Though; it is the duty of the church to bring forth change as appointed by the Lord. The wquation is simply put- yet not necessarily simple to achieve. The Lord brings to mind that He never leaves us nor forsakes us, and He is always willing to lighten our load. Everything is possible with God. Thank YouN Jesus!

Lord, help me to remain pure of heart and seek only your will. I do not want you to pour out your wrath, remove your protection, reject me, or allow the enemy to capture me, as with Zion. In Jesus name, Amen.

The Samaritan women at the well had the same issue that the children of Isreal have. The place of worship was more important than worshiping in God's spirit and truth. We can't fool God because He looks at our hearts. Things are all around us that are destriction even ourselves. When we take our minds off of Christ and his purpose our motive change along with our minds. Sometime I want to do what I want to do not what God wants me to do. I need God to help me constantly to walk in his will not my own. Help my me to given you my wholeheart and not just part of it. In Jesus Christ Name Amen
