Daily Reading: Psalms 25 thru 28 Key Verse: Psalm 27:14 We live in an impatient society. We love convenience. We have fast food, quick loans, the internet and Super Walmarts to provide us with what we need quickly. What a contrast it is to be able to get whatever you want in the material worldly quickly then have to wait on God? According to David, it takes strength and courage to be able to wait on the Lord. David knew from experience what it meant to wait on the Lord. He was annointed king at sixteen, but he did not become king until he was thirty. During those years, he was chased through the wilderness by jealous King Saul. Waiting for God is not easy. Often it seems that He isn't answering our prayers or He doesn't understand the urgency of our situation. This mindset implies that God is not in control or He is not fair. Often God uses waiting to refresh, renew and teach us. As children of God, we should make good use of our waiting times by discovering what God may be trying to teach us. In your reflection, think about your most recent waiting period. What lessons did you learn from God during that time? 2006-11-08 14:12:57 GMT

Waiting is brutal. However, I feel the refining fire. So many personality traits and hidden emotional issues have come up through the refining fire that I think I will come out a different person on the other side of the wait.
