Daily Reading: 2 Chronicles Chapter 28 thru Chapter 31

Key Verses: 2 Chronicles 30:25-27

One thing humans are very good at is complicating things.  We are always looking for the new and improved versions.  Israel was guilty of looking for bigger and better when it came to worshipping.  They sought out other means and objects of worship.  Hezekiah went back to the basics.  Call the people together and worship God our Father.  Two things happened that day; they had a Holy Ghost throw-down and God heard their prayers.  If we can stick to the basics of worship we too can have a Holy Ghost throw-down and God will hear our prayers.  What does basic worship mean to you?

To me basic worship means that I put all hinderances aside and worship God in spirit and truth. Having complete faith that He has and will continue to be my strength and if I ever get confused on a matter while I'm in the flesh, I can look to the life of His only begotten Son.

Basic worship is reflecting on God--who he is, what he has done, how he has done it, why he did it--and thanking him for it by rejoicing with song, dance, prayer, hand clapping, giving...basically anything that is for his sole glory. Worship can be done alone or within a group, anytime, and any place. It is only for him and not for bystanders, although others may benefit from it.
