Daily Reading: 2 Chronicles Chapter 32 thru Chapter 35

Key Verses: 2 Chronicles 32:7-8

We all need to be encouraged from time to time.  That is one of the main reasons we gather together to worship God on Sundays.  There are times when no one is around to speak encouraging words such as Hezekiah spoke to his people.  Those are the times we must see through the eyes of faith.  Often what we see with our natural eyes is not the reality of what God is doing in the spiritual realm.  We must stand firm and know that as long as we are on God's side the opposition does not stand a chance.  To stand firm is to stand with God in every situation.  Know that victory is certain and it is not by might, nor by power, but by God's Spirit.  Stand firm and speak life today.

I am often baffled of how quickly the Israelites lost faith in God after they witnessed so many mighty things He had done. You would think that a group who witnessed their God, devastate the most powerful nation in history would have a little more faith in Him. Then I thought about the attitude of people today, which I’m guessing was not much different than the people of Hezekiah’s day. People believe that God delivered His people way back then, but are unsure if He will still do so today.

Basically, people seem to have a “what have you done for me lately” attitude towards God and are quick to lose faith in Him. We have the advantage of seeing God keep all His promises, including sending us a savior to redeem us from our sins. So what is our excuse for thinking He can’t work throughout our lives as He did in the lives of those in the Old and New Testaments? I pray that we all recognize the ability of God to do mighty works through “cracked pot” vessels like ourselves, to show that He is still cares for those who love Him. In Jesus name, Amen.

"Fear not." This seems to be the overwhelming theme of our studies as of late. (Bonhoeffer discusses this in "The Cost of Discipleship" Chapt. 25) It just so happens that I watched "Apocalypto" (directed by Mel Gibson) last night with the same "Fear not" message. I don't know if this is for anyone else, but I take this theme's recurrence as a personal encouragement. God is in control.

I am encouraged by today's reading. As I prayed this morning- I asked God to have His way in our circumstance, and His word is confirmation that He is working things out. Amen!

Our battles are not ours to fight. The Lord is clearly speaking, "Cast all your cares on Me- for I am here for you at all times." Thank You, Lord! I'm reminded once again to trust in God for every and any circumstance; because I am His and He is my God. He is far greater than anyone or thing that may try to come against me. He is the source of my everything.

Praise, glory and honor goes to You, Lord. In Jesus mighty name I pray- AMEN!

Do not fear man - Be strong and courageous

"They only have the men of flesh, but keep in mind that we have God." You see this is what is meant when people say that the battle is not yours but the battle is the Lords.

We are appointed to be in position for battle however we may not even have to fight or get physical. Though the battle may intimidate you. Be in mind that God fights for you probably almost daily. During life basic and simple situations. He is there in the midst taking control of the issue aka "battle".

We have to remain in faith and know that God will not allow us to take on something that we cannot handle. So that let's me know when I feel it is the worst situation. God views it as something that I can handle. Thats the Christians Comfort. That God knows that I can handle it.

God I pray that You keep me on track. In Jesus Name Amen
