Daily reading: 2 Corinthians Chapter 5 thru Chapter 8

Key Verses: 2 Corinthians 5:16-18

I can honestly remember wondering when was I going to "feel" like a new creature.  I had heard over and over again that Christ made me a new creature but I didn't quite understand what that meant.  Now I have the joy of a better understanding of what it means to be a new creature.  Because of Christ I now have the Holy Spirit who allows me to see and live out God's reality instead of this world's reality.  As I pursue the Father, He blesses me with wisdom, knowledge, and understanding and nothing is the same.  I no longer see people or situations the same because I am looking through spiritual eyes rather than my natural eyes.  God reveals to us in His word all of the new things that comes with life in Him.  Reconciliation, redemption, adoption, sanctification are just a few of the new things from God that enables us to walk forward in Him and allow the former life to pass away.  I now "feel" and know what it means to be born again.  Understanding this new life is only the beginning,  I look forward to growing in grace.  Have you been enjoying your new life?  How hard was/is it to see the former things pass away?  Are you still discovering new things that God has given you?

These verses answer why Christians should carry themselves in a different manner than everyone else. When we are in Christ and take on the mind of Christ, we leave our worldly view behind. Therefore, how can we justify looking at each other with contempt in our hearts or cursing each other out? If anyone has a reason to be upset with anyone it would be God and He sent His only begotten Son to die for all sins. Even the sins of those you can’t stand. I pray that we all put our world view aside and take on the mind of Christ, so we can have a view from heaven. In Jesus name, Amen.

Dear Lord, I give glory and honor to Your name. Father, I bless You with the highest regards, because You have made me new. God, You and only You possess the power that it took to strip me of my old ways. I know that each day You are removing layers of sin, deceit, corruption, selfishness, jealousy, and the list goes on. Father, these are the reasons why I praise and worship You. Through Jesus we have the ministry of reconciliation; therefore I am made new because not only have I accepted Him in my life, but I am in desperate need of Him daily. Lord, use me however You see fit- that I may bring glory to Your name. Let the words from my mouth, and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight. I thank You for new life, and the fullness of joy that I receive freely. Thank You for choosing and loving me. In Jesus Name I pray- Amen.
