Daily Reading: Nehemiah Chapter 6 thru Chapter 9 Key Verses: Nehemiah 6:10-13 One of the biggest chains the enemy has to bind children of God is fear. This is a perfect example of how the enemy tries to stop Kingdom business with the chains of fear. Nehemiah displayed courage and discernment when he faced this situation. The enemy's plot was to intimidate and then shame but because Nehemiah discerned that God had no part of that plan, it was foiled. Those that are engaged in Kingdom work will need courage and discernment. We can't be afraid to go but we must be able to discern if God did not say go. "Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you." I love the scene painted by Nehemiah. He is told to flee for his life and his response was do I look like the running type? Nehemiah knew he was on a mission for God’s people and had been granted favor by both the natural king of kings (Artaxerxes) and the true King of kings (God). When Shemaiah came with the report that people were going to kill him, he saw right through this weak attempt. I pray that we operate on the same principle and that we never get intimidated on our work for God’s people. I pray that like Nehemiah we discern the source of the reports we hear, so we can continue doing God’s work despite the enemy’s attempt weak attempts to get us off course. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

What great lengths the enemy will go to intimidate, and plot against us. For this reason and more; we have to keep or mind, heart and spirit fixed on the Lord. Distractions are bound to come, because just as the Lord knows us- so does the enemy. We were not given a spirit of fear; which is why we have the authority to rebuke the schemes that the enemy may attempt to bring against us. Amen! I believe that as long as the Creator is for us; none can be against us.
