Daily Reading: Amos Chapter 4 thru Chapter 7

Key Verses: Amos 5:18-19

I hear a lot of people make the statement that the end of time is near.  Christians and non-Christians seem to agree that there is not much time left for the earth's existence.  I often wonder if people take into consideration of what that means for them.  When the time comes for this world to end, Jesus is coming to make a great division.  Those that will be with Him forever and those who won't.  For anyone who does not believe in Jesus as their Lord and Savior to desire the end time truly has a misunderstanding.  They are running from the Lion of Judah now but will be met by the Bear of judgment on the Day of the Lord.  Our hearts should bleed for such people.  We must continue to proclaim the truth and allow Jesus to live through us.  No one knows the time or the hour when Jesus will return.  We must be prepared at all times and tell as many people as we come in contact with about our Savior.  Many of God's manifold blessings be unto you today.

To want the end of this world to come and not understand what this means is fetal to the unbeliever. We need to confess with our mouths and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead and now is seated at the right hand of the Father. Interceding for those who believe. Because those who do not believe have already been judged.

When I hear this passage it reminds me of the Egyptians who followed the Israelites into the Red Sea. God’s light to the Children of Israel was darkness to the Egyptians and the lion of embarrassment they were trying to avoid by letting Israel escape was replaced with a bear when the Red Sea came down on them. So what was the difference? Israel was covered by the blood of the lamb and the Egyptians were not. I pray that we all cover our households in the blood of the true lamb, so that God’s judgment will be eternal light in our lives. In Jesus name, Amen.
