Daily Reading: Proverbs 25 thru Proverbs 28 Key Verse: Proverbs 26:7 When I read this verse it remind me of the character "Ray" from the T. V. show Everybody Loves Raymond. His wife always gives him wise words and he tries to tell others the same thing but he makes a fool of himself. Where he fails is not taking the time to search out the meaning and consider what his wife is communicating to him. When he goes off of his own interpretation the words have no legs to stand on. I'm guilty of doing this sort of thing from time to time. God communicates through His word. We must ponder and seek what God is communicating to us through His word. If we do not we run the risk of making a fool of ourselves. We will be, "Those foolish Christians talking nonsense." Make sure the wise words that come out of your mouth has God's legs to stand on. They will be sturdy and never fail. Seek wisdom, knowledge, and understanding today. 2008-12-23 15:02:28 GMT

I feel that the proclamations of many Christians today are just as limp as the legs of the lame. Many proclaim Jesus as their Lord and Savior, but can’t back their claim up with any substance and as a result many are lost. It appears as some disagree with certain intellectual groups, they have moved toward an anti-intellectual approach to their beliefs. We know that in the end the decision of accepting Christ will come down to faith, but it doesn’t have to be blind faith.

In the information age we are in, there is so much evidence that points to the things we believe that it makes no sense why we shouldn’t equip ourselves with them in our daily walk. When that person that crosses your path is trying to decide whether they should place their faith in Jesus as you have, it will have much more strength when you can easily point to the bible, history, and your life as testimonies of its truth. I pray that we all take the time to understand the things that we proclaim as true, so they will carry substance and not be limp as the legs of the lame. In Jesus name, Amen. Danny |
