Daily Reading: Psalm 81 thru Psalm 84 Key Verses: Psalm 84:11-12 People often speak of how difficult it is to live for God. I would like to offer the thought of how difficult it would be to live without God. He is so good that He gives us everything that we need to serve Him. These verses state that God will not withhold anything that is permanently good. It does not mean that He gives us what we think is good. God establishes out paths, provides the light to follow, orders our steps, and gives us everything for the journey that is needed. The only catch is we must do the walking. Many misunderstand being a child of God. Many thin that God will walk for you. Our walking establishes our trust in Him. When we walk by faith we have established that we are trusting God for provision and protection. As long as we trust in God for everything -- we will be blessed. 2007-04-11 12:24:08 GMT

It is so contrary to human nature to rely on an invisible God for our sustenance. In the American culture, we are taught to be self-dependent, self-reliant and self-sufficient. We often hear of the self-made millionaire or the guy who pulled himself up by his bootstraps. What does total dependence on God look like? Does it mean that you stop striving to achieve? Do you turn your brain off? Those would be some exreme measures. I think total dependence means relying on His Word before proceeding. If we trust Him, we will give Him the first fruits of our time meaning we will start the morning seeking His Will for our day. Then we listen throughout the day for His direction. What a wonderful promise for the man (woman) who trusts in the Lord - they will be blessed.

The Lord is our everything, and when we live according to His word and His perfect will; then He will give us all the good that He desires. When we cast our cares on Jesus, and trust in His power- we will reap blessings abundantly. God desires to bless us, but we have to let go of what we consider to be our own strength, in our hands and allow the Almighty to take control. Father, my soul says, "YES"!-Amen
