Daily Reading: Psalm 129 thru Psalm 132

Key Verses: Psalm 132:11-18

This is a psalm that God's people would sing on the way to worship God in Jerusalem.  What better way to approach the presence of God than singing His word to Him in anticipation of His manifested presence?  This Psalm reminds the singer and God of the promised covenant God made with His servant David.  The worshipper could endure the travel and whatever the journey brought because he had the assurance of God's promises.  God promised David's descendents peace and prosperity.  What are God's promises to you?

Like the covenant God made with David, God made a new covenant with all men.  The new covenant is the forgiveness of sins through the shed blood of the perfect sacrifice in Jesus Christ.  Our covenant with God is through His only begotten Son who gave His life to redeem the world.  We can sing the benefits of our covenant to God on the way to worship Him.  In anticipation of His manifested presence we can sing of His faithfulness to forgive us of our sins.  We can sing of the reconciliation the blood of Christ provided between men and God.  We can sing of His love which adopted us into His heavenly family, making us heirs and joint heirs with Christ.  We can sing of the righteousness of Jesus that His blood provides each believer.  We can sing of the deliverance, healing, wholeness, blessings, power, anointing, authority, wisdom, knowledge, direction, discernment, spiritual gifts, bearing fruit, and the multiple ways to glorify God with our lives.

Sing a new song today.  Sing of your covenant with God Almighty.  Let the world hear your song and rejoice today.

The Lord made a covenant with David, that as long as his sons kept the Lord's covenant- they will sit on David's throne forever. All God wants is "Yes." He has also made a covenant for His saints. As long as I follow God's word and obey His teachings, He will always bless me with His everlasting favor. Day by day, I experience more of my Father's truths. My Lord is an un-changing God; though He requires me to change and surrender all to His perfect will. Then I shall reap His abundant blessings for my life. We serve an awesome God! I love You Lord!
