Daily Reading: Psalms 9 thru 16

Key Verse: Psalm 11:3

How are the foundations being destroyed? The foundations are destroyed by the removal of truth.

Did you know that the founder of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) was a professed communist bent on destroying the government?  Here is a statement he made:  “I am for socialism, disarmament, and ultimately for abolishing the state itself as an instrument of violence and compulsion. I seek social ownership of property, the abolition of the propertied class… Communism is the goal.”  ACLU is an organization that claims to use tax dollars to defend the little man.  In actuality,  "The ultimate goal of the ACLU is to see an America 'with little or no public vestige left of religious faith and the traditional family,' according to the Alliance Defense Fund’s Alan Sears and Craig Osten, who wrote the book, The ACLU vs. America.   Are you aware of how much political power the ACLU has exhibited over the last decade?

The problem lies in not examining everything against the Word of God.  When you listen to music, read books, watch television or movies, are you aware of the beliefs of the artists, writers or producers?  Do you think that someone who is of a different faith (non-Christian) would produce works based on what they believe?  What about the media and what is reported as news?  I know as a Christian music artist that the music I produce is based on my beliefs.  I have been told by people that I can't bring my beliefs into a performance because I may offend.  The world has no problem with offending Christians.  The foundations are being destroyed because we, as Christians, have been lulled to sleep.  The people or organizations that are intent on changing the world to their point of view are seemingly non-threatening, and therefore they are accomplishing their goals.   Isn't it time to wake up?  Ephesians 5:14.

Prior to becoming serious about my walk, I often wondered about being persecuted for Christ's sake. It was not that I did not have problems, but I did not fully see how the world was against me because of Christ. I accepted things as simply being a part of life and the world we live in. For instance, once upon a time, I did not view television in a negative light. But I now realize not only how much of our precious time it sucks up, but offensive it is. My children can not watch television without seeing half-dressed people or sexual inuendos on commercials. I can block programs. I can block stations. But, how do I block commercials? As my eyes were opened, I began to realize why Jesus said take up my cross and follow me. The cross means that there are some things you will have to stand up and fight for. You may look ridiculous to the world, but so did all the defenders of faith (Hebrews 11). Besides God is watching (Psalm 11:4). I understand why Jesus is a stumbling block to the world. The world understands that the foundations are being destroyed. But, it does not understand why? Maybe, if believers would wake up and with one voice speak up, then we could let the light of Christ shine.

As I ponder the question posed in the blog today, I must admit that there was a time in my life when I didn't give these things a second thought. Who cared what these artists, writers, or producers belived in as long as the music sounds good, the book was good, and the movie had a great story line. It wasn't until I began to understand the word of God and apply it to my life that I realized I was stradling the fence between worldly things and God. This brings to mind a converstion that took place between a co-worker and myself. I was placed with a physician with whom I don't you usually work with when he began to question why what he had ordered did't get scheduled. After investigating, I discovered what happened so I informed him. Well, the young man that does the scheduling turned to me and asked how could I tell on a friend like that, knowing that the nurse guilty of the infraction is a friend of mine? So I asked would it have been better if I had told a lie and covered up for her? And of course his answer was yes to which I replied, why was it such a bad thing that I told the truth; we all make mistakes. As I suspected, he hadn't really given that much consideration; infact his reply was simply "I don't know, that's a good question". I guess it's just our nature to lie and deceive because we do it without giving it a second thought. In essence, if we live by God's word and become united in one body then we could let the light of Christ shine.

I totally agree with your opening comment Pastor Baker; the biggest problem is that many Christian folks don’t study the Word of God; therefore, they don’t possess the ability to rightful judge. As the scriptures says…people parish for the lack of knowledge! Another pertinent aspect of rightfully judging or having the innate ability to decipher right from wrong is being filled with the Holy Spirit. There is so much to learn when it comes to “spiritual warfare” but if you have the Holy Spirit is living on the inside of you; although you may not fully understand, He will let you know when you should not be looking at certain shows, listening to certain conversations, engaged in certain relationships etc. It may be an audible voice or a strange feeling deep within your gut to the point you’re feeling uncomfortable with what you are doing. Most folks refer to Him as their conscious but most often He (Holy Spirit) is the one giving the warning. It is definitely time to wake up! The church is scattered and the colts are united. I am feeling the heat of the last days…. the end times….A few folks can’t win the world, the church has to “get right” come together and be determined not to be among the elite that will be fooled and in the last days taking the broad way. I have had many people tell me things about pastors, ministers and leaders in the church who have attempted to minister to them. They have said things like; “she can’t tell me nothing cause I saw her at the club dancing and drinking just like me, so she need to sit down!” or “He beats his wife and he has a girlfriend so he can’t preach nothing to me”… Can’t win them if we’re going to join them……

Sister Baker you hit the “nail on the head” when you talked about the things our children are being exposed to…from the TV to the school house. I am currently in a dilemma with the world’s system. My 12-year-old is in the 7th grade, she attends an advance magnet performance arts school and her literature class is assigned to read a book entitled Dragon Rider. This book is about a magical land where dragons meet marvelous creatures in a place where they can live forever. Well I instantly knew before I opened the book that was demonic. I didn’t know this right-a-way because I’m so smart; I knew because of my in-depth study of the Word of God. As I flipped through the pages this is a line my eyes fell upon….”She works by night and sleeps by day”, translated Twigleg, “because she’s studying the secrets of the dark time of the moon. I called the school and requested an alternant book explaining that the current book goes against our religious belief, the woman on the other end of the phone told me there was nothing that could be done because this book was approved by the school board and the parish and Bill Gates donated the books so the children can have them “free of charge.” I told her provisions are made for other practicing beliefs…she said “I know!” So the children can’t pray but they can study witchcraft, lesbianism and form demonic clubs in the schools. The antichrist has his strategic plan activated in full launch, if the saints don’t wake up the church will fold. How can we prepare the way of the Lord when we are still allowing the world to mandate what we must do? People can’t be brought to the Lord and the world hasn’t changed because most of us who know Him and have experienced change aren’t praying that His (God) kingdom come in the earth and His will be just so as it is established in Heaven. It is the “Truth” (the Word of God) that will make us free and keep our foundations fixed!
