Entry for October 18, 2007
Daily Reading: Nahum Chapter 1 thru Chapter 3 Key Verse: Nahum 1:7 I heard an advertisement for a play that stated limited V.I.P. seats were sold. These seats are available to those who can afford to pay extra to see the play. True V.I.P. entrances are not sold. They are based on relationship. If you walk up to the V.I.P. section and your name is not on the list -- you will not get in. It doesn't matter how much money you have or who you are. If your name is not on the list that means that the owner does not know you. Your name could be on the lips of everyone else in town but that still does not get you in. In the day of trouble, there will be no strangers under God's V.I.P. section. You cant sneak in or buy a seat. You can't get in because your best friend is in. Imagine trying to bribe an angel standing at the entrance with a flaming sword? Your name must be on the list. You must have a relationship with the owner. Evidence of knowing the owner may be records of your conversation with Him that day. Maybe you can show the ordered steps the Father gave you that day. I believe that the main evidence will be in the palms of God's hands. The guardians of the refuge can double check His palms. The Bible says that our names are engraved in the palms of His hands. If you walk hand in hand with God long enough, your imprint will be permanent. Access granted! How wonderful, how excellent, how mighty, how great is our God! 2007-10-18 11:13:12 GMT

Dietrich Bonhoeffer was a theologian and a pastor during the time when Hitler came to power in Germany. Due to the church being supported financially by the government, Hitler was able to take over the CHURCH. He even changed the Bible to make it say what he wanted it to say. Unlike some during his time, Bonhoeffer spoke against this vehemently. Once Hitler had complete control of Germany, Bonhoeffer realized he had to take drastic measures. He and some of his family and friends set up plots to kill Hitler. The plots were discovered. By the end of the war, Bonhoeffer and most of those involved in the plot were sent to concentration camps and eventually put to death. Bonhoeffer is most noted for his statements on the difference between cheap grace and costly grace. Bonhoeffer had many opportunities to get out of Germany (he lived in New York for awhile) or submit to the Nazi culture. But he knew God had called him to a greater purpose. He became the pastor of the concentration camp. He not only helped and comforted those who were prisoners, but he also was well-respected among the guards. Bonhoeffer had surrendered his all to the Lord in such a manner that he did not fear death. He obeyed the Lord.

Sometimes costly grace will require a lot of us just as it required a lot of Jesus. The amazing thing is that God has given us the choice of which route to take. In seeking Him, He will place us on His path, a path that might cost us our lives. But, we will have our VIP in heaven. The older I get the more I realize that I am just spirit wrapped in flesh and this flesh can die at anytime, but my spirit will live on in eternity. I have been born again. --Aundrea Baker <mailto:abaker@thewaybiblefellowship.org>

What more can I say, but "PRAISE GOD and BLESS HIS HOLY NAME" because as His word clearly states, "The Lord is good." What He requires from me is a much smaller price to pay compared to His great sacrifice. For this I say, "yes Lord!" I decided to put my trust in Him, because for as long as I can remember- He has always came through; especially in times of trouble. HALLELUAH! I pray that on that day that each believer stands before Him, He will say "Welcome" with open arms. Amen.
