Daily Reading: Joshua chapters 21 thru 24

Key Verse: Joshua 24:16

When I finally had my "Ah-ha" moment that God is real and Jesus is real, I understood that obedience to Him was worth more than anything else.  Therefore, in realizing this I made up my mind that regardless of what anyone else does that I am going to serve the Lord.  This service includes:how I lead my family, practice business, conduct conversations, think, and live daily.  My personal walk, my habits and my hobbies are submitted to His Lordship.  Joshua gives us a perfect example of what a made up mind looks like.  Because of this, his legacy is not measured in silver and gold but in his obedience.  That is why thousands of years later his heritage continues.

Why is it easier for women to decide to fully serve God than it is for men?

I think part of the reason for the chaos in the body of Christ is because more men will not step up and commit to following the Lord wholeheartedly. That is why women dominate the leadershp of the church. That is also why women dominate the leadership in their households. I am no way against women having equal opportunities, but I believe God set up His system the way He did for a reason. Women are by nature emotional. That is why we are good nurturers. When you have a church that is dominated by female leadership, you are bound to have issues come up because of emotions.

I think one reason women are drawn to the thuggish male is because they are looking for security and protection even at the cost of lowering standards. Passive men appear weak and when women need them to step up, they are no where to be found. I do not blame men as we have discovered most men today were not imparted with the knowledge of what it takes to be a Man of God.

Where are the strong, valiant warriors, such as Joshua who have a made up mind?

I believe part of the reason why it is easier for women to fully decide to serve the Lord than it is for men is because society has conditioned us to believe certain things about our roles as men and women. Women have been taught for many years to be subservient, humble, and meek while men, on the other hand, have been taught to appear macho and strong. I believe that men think that by totally submitting to God they will appear weak in some way, but that is a lie straight from Satan. In no way is it a weakness to serve the Father. In fact, it takes a tremendous amount of strength to submit our will to that of God's, so, in my opinion, when a man can accomplish this, he shows forth his strength and ability to lead. I pray that in the near future, more men would become aware of the fact that God calls them to lead, in the church as well as the household, and step up and assume the responsibility that they have been given.

Pastor, I really don’t know the answer as it relates to men. Surely it is evident that there is a commitment issue, which more than likely, stems from past generations such as generational curses. I can only answer with certainty as to why I have and continuously decide to fully serve God. As I reflect on your ending question, I find that my decision to completely serve God is due to my total dependency upon Him. I have the revelation that I just simply can’t make it without Him! I have never had anyone who I could totally depend upon but God. He has never failed me nor has He allowed me to be made ashamed. He reached down in the midst of many hellish situations and pulled me out the fires….God has healed me in every aspect of my life and has also blessed me with things I thought I could never possess (on my own). I am totally speechless when it comes to the issue of men….I am almost 40 and have not dated in almost five (5) years; absolutely no phone calls, or nights out on the town. The reason for my current state of being alone (not lonely) is due to the lack of men (in my area) who are truly living for God. I refuse to lower my standards and if that means being alone, then so be it!!! I realize that sometimes you will have to walk this thing (life) alone….and no matter what…I’m going all-the-way with God. As a famous preacher once said: “I rather be an old maid than a miserable wife!” Been there, done that, ain’t going back there no more!!!!!! All I can do is trust God and continue to be about my Father’s business. The reports (revealed truths) regarding men (saved men) have become alarming and extremely frightening; we must fall on our faces before God, fasting and praying for all men. I have great respect for those who truly love the Lord and are walking according to His purpose for their lives. I know that my Boaz is out there somewhere and if I have to wait 10 more years…that’s just what I’ll do because the race is not given to the swift nor the strong but to those who endure until the end. The Bible says I will reap if I faint not and those who patiently wait (endure) obtain the promise. God bless you Pastor Baker and Sister Andrea, I have much love for you guys and I am very proud of what God is doing in your lives. I truly am blessed by your dedication to the things of God and your determination to win souls for the Kingdom. The love that you guys share is definitely enough to cover a multitude of sin! Thank you for seeing us the way mercy saw you….(the end result) Love you much!!!!
